Christmas Birdies, size 11,5 x 6 cm (4 1/2" x 2 1,4")
Material:
Pieces of brocade or lurex fabric
Quilt batting material
Glue
Black pearls for the eyes
Feathers
Beads
Golden thread
Golden yarn
Instruction:
Cut out one circle of felt a 11,5 cm (4 1/2") and another one of brocade or lurex fabric 8 cm (3 1/4"). Pin the brocade or lurex circle in the middle of the felt circle and make a zigzag seam around --> foto.
Cut out a circle of quilt batting materia 11,5 cm (4 1/2") l and put it underneath the sewn felt circle.
Then prepare the beaks of the birds. For each beak cut out a triangleof felt fabric 4 x 4 x 5 cm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 2"), fold it in the middle, put some glue inside, fix it with a clip and let it dry.
Then fold the felt circle (lined with the batting), insert the beak --> and sew around the half circle with golden thread - but on the opposite side leave 1 cm (1/2") open.
Now insert the feathers on the open end of the half circle and fix the feathers with the sewing machine.
Sew on a black pearl on each side of the birdie.
On the back of the birdie attach a hanger of golden yarn with a few beads --> foto.
Make a lot of birdies and use them for small presents or for your Christmas Tree !
