Beach hat 70s style, size app.56 cm
Material:
- Cotton fabric, 50 x 150 cm
- Lining farbric, 20 x 100 cm
- Interfacing material, 50 x 100 cm
- Elastic band, 60 cm, 2 cm wide
- Polyester thread for sewing
Instruction:
Copy the pattern, join parts together as shown by arrows. Seam allowance is included in the pattern!
Cut the top piece 6 x from cotton fabric and 6 x from lining fabric.
Cut the brim 2 x from cotton fabric.
Iron on the interfacing material on the 6 cotton top pieces and on 1 brim piece.
Then pin the cotton top pieces and sew them --> foto. Iron the seams well.
Do the same with the lining pieces.
Make a seam on both brims.
Pin the sewn lining and cotton piece together, then pin the brim around --> and sew the pieces together.
Now pin the other brim pieces around the hat --> foto and sew it. Then turn it.
On the inner side fold the brim piece through the top and sew it on by hand.
Iron the hat well and make a few stitching lines around the brim --> foto.
If necessary sew on an elastic band on the inner side of the hat at the beginning of the brim. (it is for a better fitting).
Make a few hats for your summer events !
