Bags & Cosmetic Case, made of textile leather


Size of red bag: 16 x 27 cms and pink one 15 x 23 cms, cosmetic case 9 x 18 cms.

Material:

• Various pieces of textile or artificial leather (or real leather)
• Ribbons
• Lace
• Halfrings
• Carabiner hooks
• Magnetic buttons
• Small push buttons
• Chain
• Strong interfacing for ironing on
• Cotton for lining
• Zippers - 1 for each bag - 16 cms
• Piece of pipe ribbon
• Elastic band

Instruction for clutch:

Prepare the material, iron it carefully, then choose a size of your bag.
If you have to join pieces of the material to get the desired size of the bag, you can sew a ribbon or lace - as I did - over the seam. Now you have a piece of material of about 50 x 30 cms.

Then fold back both edges of the loger side and sew them.

Now fold one side back -about 14 cms -  like an envelope and sew left and right side properly.

Turn the bag and fold the cap, you can see how the bag looks like.

Prepare the lining with a zipper pocket - see my tutorial for easy zipper pocket:

Make also two small pieces for ringholders  - where you can attach the bag handle - and fix them with an eyelet or sew them on by sewing machine.

Then pin the lining into the bag and insert a magnetic button as you see on the foto. Sew the lining by hand or machine.

For the handle you can finish a chain app. 120 cms with a ribbon - like on the pink bag or cut two small pieces of a chain and connect them with a piece of fabric as you desisre.

You can finish your bag with the handle.

Instruction for cosmetic case:

If you have left a small piece of the textile leather about 18 x 18 cms, you can make a fast cosmetic case.

Iron on interfacing and cut the four edges round, it is easier for the pipe to sew around.

Pin the lining and sew an elastic band as you see on the foto --> to store cosmetic things nicely.

Prepare a small bag of the lining material and sew it on one side of the cosmetig bag, then sew on a small push button on this small lining bag.
Make a small band and insert one part of the magnetic button. Then pin it and sew it on as you see on the foto. The other part of the magnetic button should be fixed on the opposite side (outside) --> to close the cosmetic bag.
If you like insert a small ribbon with a carabiner hook on the side. Then sew the lining by hand or by machine.

Be creative and design a few bags which fit to your wardrobe.
